Construction Updates

The project team is still in the process of obtaining Master Use Permits for the Addition project, which is anticipated in second quarter 2018.

Bus layover loop

Work to be accomplished between 7/16/2018 and 7/22/2018 will focus on sidewalk concrete work on Pike between Terry & Boren; striping on 9th Ave between Pike & Olive; controller cabinet foundation work at 7th & Pike, 8th & Pike, 8th & Pine, and 9th & Pike; and gate arm foundation and sign footings will be placed at 9th & Pike as highlighted by dashed lines on the map below.  New striping will also occur on 9th Ave (Pike to Howell). This will necessitate the following temporary traffic control modifications:

  • Pike St. & Terry/Hubbell will have temporary traffic modifications and sidewalk closures at the Pike & Terry intersection and on Pike from Terry to Boren.
  • 9th Ave will have temporary traffic modifications.
  • Temporary Lane closures at 7th & Pike, 8th & Pine.
  • 9th Howell & Olive will have temporary traffic modifications and sidewalk closures.
  • 9th & Pike will have temporary traffic modifications.

Parking spaces will be eliminated on the north side of Pike St on the east and west side of Boren; on 9th Ave between Pine and Olive; Pine St and Pike St on the west side of 9th Ave; and on the east side of 7th Ave between Union and Pike.

9th Ave Ramp

Work to be accomplished between 7/16/2018 and 7/22/2018 will focus on laying striping on the ramp and setting up fencing and gates for the new bus ramp as highlighted by dashed lines on the map below. This will necessitate the following temporary traffic control modifications:

  • Flaggers will be monitoring the entrance and exit of Metro buses and construction vehicles in and out of the CPS.

Howell Utility Major Permit

During the upcoming week of 7/9, duct bank installation will be occurring for the Howell
UMP.

From Sunday until Thursday, the 2 south lanes of Howell St will be closed from Terry Ave to Boren Ave, and Boren Ave to be reduced to one lane in each direction from Howell St to Olive Way.  This will occur from 7 pm until 5 am. 

From Monday until Friday, Howell St will be closed at 9th Avenue from 8 pm until 5 am for
duct bank installation. The 2 center lanes of 9th Avenue from Howell St to Olive Way will also be closed for this work. 

Neighbors should expect construction noise and traffic during these times.
