Weekly Construction Updates

October 21st, 2020

Work to be accomplished between 10/21/20 and 11/7/20 will be:

  • Erection of structural steel, metal deck, rebar, and concrete on metal deck.
  • Spray on fireproofing.
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing rough in, and framing.
  • Building envelope including curtain wall and framing.
  • Installing water lines and power under Olive Way and Boren Ave, and Olive Way and 9th Ave.
  • Support of excavation for the loading dock north of Olive Way.
  • Install new gas main on 9th Ave between Pine St and Olive Way.

Work site is highlighted on the map. This will necessitate the following temporary traffic control set-up:

  • Sidewalk closure on the east side of 9th Ave between Howell St and Pine St.
  • Sidewalk closure on the west side of Boren Ave between Howell St and Pine St.
  • 3 year closure of Terry Ave between Howell St and Olive Way.
  • Pine ST North Sidewalk Closure between 9th Ave & Boren Ave.
  • One lane closure east or west side on 9th Ave between Olive Way and  Pine St.
  • South lane and South sidewalk closure on Howell St from 9th Ave to Boren Ave.
  • Olive Way reduced to 1 or 2 lanes from 8th Ave to Boren Ave from 9/30/20 to 10/30/20.
  • Sidewalk on both sides of Olive Way from 9th Ave to Boren Ave closed from  9/30/20 to 10/30/20.

Allowable Work Hours are from 7:00AM - 7:00PM, Monday - Friday, and 9:00AM - 7:00PM, Saturday - Sunday

Permitted work outside allowable hours to be accomplished between 10/21/20 and 11/7/20 will be:

  • Wednesday 10/21/20 - Monday 1/4/21 6AM - 3PM Load and haul soil off of Howell between 9th Ave and Boren Ave.
  • Wednesday 10/21/20 - Thursday 12/31/20 7PM to 5:30AM Pick up or off load material in staging lot on 8th & Pine.
  • Wednesday 10/21/20 - Saturday 11/7/20 7PM - 7AM Deliveries offloaded with tower crane. 
  • Wednesday 10/21/20 - Saturday 11/7/20 starting at 4:00AM Tower crane operations and concrete pump set up. 
  • Wednesday 10/21/20 - Saturday 11/7/20 7:00PM - 6:00AM Steel deliveries, unload, organization, erection, and welding.
  • Wednesday 10/21/20 - Saturday 11/7/20 7PM - 6:00AM Unload and stock fireproofing materials from Boren Ave.
  • Friday 10/30/20 - Saturday 10/31/20 6PM - 6AM SPU to demo existing temp water lines and tie in new water lines.  Work done in multiple areas: Olive & Boren, Olive & 9th, and Howell & Terry.

Allowable Impact Noise Hours are from 8AM - 5PM, Monday - Friday, and 9AM - 5PM, Saturday - Sunday 

Permitted Impact Noise work outside allowable hours to be accomplished between 10/21/20 and 11/7/20 will be:

  • Steel erection requiring impact work from 5PM to 10PM

Olive Way Update:

  • Olive Way has been reduced to one lane. We are working closely with SDOT to monitor traffic flow and will open an additional lane if necessary. Utility work at Boren and Olive Way is scheduled to be completed by October 31st. Complete reconstruction of Olive Way and a sidewalk on the North side of Olive Way is scheduled to be completed by early November.
